Universal Genève - Super Compressor - Män - 1960-1969
The Super Compressor model with 2 crowns is one of the first diver's watches for professional divers
The second crown is used to position the lunette on the dial.
Produced between 1960 and 1968 with the first micro-rotor automatic movement developed by 3 companies: Universal Geneva, Buren and Hamilton to lessen development costs.
On this watch the micro-rotor calibre is the 215-2.
The design is by Gérald Genta, designed in the 1950s for the pilots' classic model.
The diving model came from the same hands in the years between 1962 and 1964, with a stronger casing (diameter: 40 mm x 45 mm, thickness 13 mm)
This watch is from the first generation but from the second production.
The name of Polerouter comes from the air company SAS which undertook the flight from Los Angeles to Europe via the North Pole, which wasn't very common at the time.
Polarouter became Polerouter
Original watch in working condition but not for deep diving.
Travel case and Colissimo shipping.
